We use various platforms to advocate for equal representation of Ukrainian arts and culture on the European stage. Our advocacy efforts also allow us to connect with fellow Ukrainian NGOs to identify common challenges and find new opportunities to support each other.

The exhibition War Stories: Ukraine Up Close at the Nationaal Militair Museum in Soest chronicles Ukraine’s struggle through photographs, video portraits and artifacts, including our co-founder Uliana Bun’s own godfather’s bullet-hit jacket from the 2014 Maidan.

Our very own Oksana Savchuk moderated a panel discussion at ART The Hague on the topic of “Ukrainian Art in the Time of War”. Together with three Ukrainian female artists, Oksana navigated a powerful discourse on the intersection of art, identity, and resilience in the face of war.

A partner in Lithuania
Co-founders Oksana Savchuk and Uliana Bun took to the Lithuanian Embassy in the Hague to continue seeking collaborations in the arts and culture sectors with like-minded partners. “Our role was to forge new connections so that we could work together in the future on joint projects,” Bun explained.

European Advocacy Forum 2023
VATAHA represented Dutch-Ukrainian civil society collaboration at the second annual European Advocacy Forum in Brussels this year. The Forum discussed protecting democracy, economic relations, achieving justice, and the security landscape – all within the framework of the upcoming 2024 European Parliament elections.
